dragon rapes seventh-grader in my school

my high school shares a building with a middle school (we have a wing).

apparently today we were informed (after school) that the instructor of the dragon dancing team was having a sexual relationship (?) with a seventh-grader!

nothing is on the news yet and it was a story spread teacher-to-teacher around 6pm after the admins had left, so i'll find out more tomorrow!

football and basketball are thug sports, and dragon dancing is pretty big! they train all year and do competitions and stuff, and then parade through the streets during Chinese New Year (you should check it out if you're in NYC next year, it's CRAZY)

9th grade, not college

Chinese New Year is the lunar new year, so it's the day of the 2nd new moon after the winter solstice. does that illuminate the issue any better? it's the year's biggest holiday for like a third of the world's population.

so, the story is only reported in Chinese-language papers in my area so I can't find an internet source. the middle-school principal is playing it way down and says the guy was only affiliated loosely with the school and was not the dragon dance leader, but the article made it sound like he was a respected school figure. it's also more a case of "19 year old has a 12 year old girlfriend" which is gross enough but I guess somewhat different from the stories being circulated at first.

hah sure it's pretty fun! fireworks everywhere and the whole street is full of pink paper streamers (like 2 feet deep everywhere) and dragons are parading around in the streets and you can buy 3 packs of bang-snaps for a buck and throw them at little kids.
