Anybody know anything about them? I read a pretty enthusiastic review in Decibel magazine. They sound like my kind of black metal.

More BM out of CA. Ranked alongside Leviathan, Xasthur, and the wholly underrated Crebain. Never heard him though. Aquarius is a good source of info & MP3 samples.

Nothing against the grain when compared to the other CA black metal. Not bad, not mind-blowing, but perhaps worth your time. I've pretty much lost all interest in USBM besides Noctuary and Leviathan (two bands that have actually progressed)... all of the other bands do a fucking excellent job of rewriting "Under a Funeral Moon" twice a year and releasing it on vinyl.

I like USBM, including a lot of what's on Moribund of course. And as for Draugar, I own From Which Hatred Grows and Weathering the Curse and enjoy them both.

Xasthur's first album is THE SHIT but I eventually got tired of Malefic when he wrote and released the same album about six times.
And by the way- this Draugar song sounds exactly 1/3 Leviathan, 1/3 Crebain, and 1/3 Xasthur.

Unfortunately the last three Xasthur albums sound very similar. Nocturnal Poisoning, A Gate Through Blood Stained Mirrors, Suicide in Dark Serenity, and the split CD with Angra Mainyu are all absoutley killer CD's though.
does anyone know what the hell is going on with that Malfeic, Wrest, etc. supergroup project?
