Melbourne's Dreadnaught aren't content to revisit the ghosts of rock'n'roll past.

But from the first harsh strums of opener Living a Lie it's clear that although some might want to shoehorn them in with the rest of the new-rock crowd, Melbourne's Dreadnaught aren't content to revisit the ghosts of rock'n'roll past, instead proudly claiming their rightful place as part of a living musical heritage.

There's nothing overproduced here - Dirty Music is 35 minutes of raw rock'n'roll with just a hint of metal that gets your foot tapping, head nodding and leaves you wanting more. Whether it's the grinding Scenester, excitable Losing It or the sarcasm of Money Shot, it's all pleasing to the ears in the roughest of ways.

Six years between albums is a long time in music, but if that's what it takes to put together a release this honest, there'll be plenty of fans willing to wait until 2011 for the next one.
