Drudkh - Handul of Stars

listened to this earlier today. Definitely more in the belly than its rather lame predecessor, but I do not yet know to what extent I'll be probably hypothetically in a certain amount of likelihood be liking it to the point of getting myself a few bucks lighter. Time will tell. Intriguing release though, especially the riffing work, which is Drudkh while being not Drudkh at all <-- check out the smart punchline.

I've listened to it 3 times and it's definitely, infinitely better than Microcosmos. It grows on you like a weed. The riffing is a tad more on the post-rock side but it works.

In my opinion, the finest Black Metal band on the planet. Downloading now... listening shortly.

Hey J., if I wanted to check out Graveland, where do I start?

Depends on what you want, to be honest. The most accessible ones are Creed of Iron, and Memory and Destiny. Immortal Pride seems to be the one that brings their latter Bathory influence together with their older, folkier black metal.

Fire Chariot of Destruction is actually a stellar release. I even remember JayKeeley singing its praises.

The classics are Thousand Swords, and Following the Voice of Blood

I've also spun it three times, and am digging it more than Microcosmos (which I liked more than most). Not many bands can evolve album to album, but remain true to themselves. Drudkh manage to do that.

I downloaded Fire Chariot of Destruction shortly after posing this question. It needs another listen or two, but I'm digging it so far. I'll check out Thousand Swords and Following the Voice of Blood next. Thanks.

The one after, will stronger than death, is good too. Be wary of TS and FtVoB as theyre a bit more sloppy and less grandiose, and people love to complain about the drumming.

Immortal Pride and FCoD are two that everyone seems to agree on.
