Drum overpowerment

Hey if there are any drummers out there, it would be a huge help if you could answer this. I play in a small band, and my drums sometimes overpower our amps for the guitars, especially some of the symbols like the crash symbol, we only have like a 50 watt amp for each guitar, and I'm a thrasher, so how would I go about fixing that other than a larger amp?

Tell the drummer to play softer, move further away from the drums, or get a louder amp.

At practice we use large rolling plexiglass barriers placed between myself and the rest of the band. It really helps bring down my volume and cymbal wash.

are those combo amps? placing them at around ear-hight should help quite a bit I think

An electric kit may not be a drummer's favorite thing in the world, but I swear I've never played in a practice room with drums that sounded so good.

If you're using a combo amp, aim the speaker towards your ears so you can hear it, either by putting it at head height or tilting it upwards.

Trust me, in almost EVERY band situation that I've ever been in, that's ALWAYS been the case, even with good monitors.
