Is this the whole concept of 'in-built' mics inside the actual drums? I've heard that you can get some killer sounds this way, and it takes most of the hassle out of mic'ing drums.
There's a comment in the article about it not picking things like the actual snares.
First thing I thought of was would the attack of any drum come through like we're used to?
I'm sure they'll be handy, regardless. That is if it's really decent technology
Doesnt sound like a new concept to me, i was a brass musician for a jazz band or two and many sax's had mics in them permenently AND guess what else they had a little hole for the lead too
