DT / Opeth N American Tour

I agree, neither are the most exciting live bands.

Opeth were amazing to watch the first time I saw them.
Then the 2nd time I saw them, it wasn't as special.

While I like and appreciate both bands, I have very little desire in going to this show.

that is a very interesting line up. Glad to see that a and like Dream Theater isnt staying away from having real metal acts open for them. Look how many good metal acts who are large like COB, Cradle, and In Flames tour here and have all this mallcore stuff opening for them. These are the bands that should be bringing over the new talent and stuff. oh well.

Opeth was fun live but I really dont like the last disc.

I will probably get flamed for this, but I actually liked Ghost Reveries more than Deliverance.

DT seems like they tour with whoever they want, and not because a label made them do it. They have toured with everyone from Yes and Deep Purple, to Fates Warning and Queensryche.

Definitely an interesting package, though with all the other gigs that will be going on at that time, this would be VERY low on my list of shows I would go to. I imagine the ticket price will be very high too.

What a weird friggin' combo for a tour. It might actually get me to a DT gig as a paying fan. After years of following DT, the combination of endless musical wankery, zero song structure, and James LaShe's unrelenting screeching has sent me packing as a fan. It'll be interesting to see how long I'll stick around during DT.

Even with a half of the band new, Opeth>>>>>DT.
