Glenn's announcement of the Jon Oliva Thursday song writing event brought to mind the BreakThru Radio occasional series which puts an artist (or two) in the studio with musician Ben Arthur (http://benarthur.com/) as the constant presence to create and record a song in a day. Each artist's day in the studio is documented in a 5-part series on YouTube, Part 5 being the finished product. The first one was with Vienna Teng (http://viennateng.com/) and through her announcement of the project is how I became aware of BreakThru radio. I love the end result of that debut collaboration - Reservoirs. So far to me Tracy Bonham was most fascinating in the way she creates. Definitely not Metal, but worth a look for those who commented that they like experiencing the song writing process.
