His versatility and his impact are the epitome of what it means to be an artist today.Asked in a 2012 interview if he feels the book on GUNS N' ROSES has been closed with last year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction, McKagan said: "You can never close the fuckin' book on GUNS N' ROSES. We all try to get cute in interviews and stuff, and there's so much media out there. I mean, you and I will do this interview and you'll write it and it will be out there in an instant. And I can say something that I didn't mean to say in a certain way and it'll come out as the headline: 'Duff says he shit his pants today!' 'No, I was shitting my pants in that I was nervous, I didn't say I shit my pants!' But you know what I mean. So, I know you can never really close the book on a band like that. It meant so much to so many people, and there are so many means of media out there that you can't close [the book]."
