Yeah, I haven't read them either. I just remember that the movies are classic, boring-ass sci-fi.

Speaking of books, is anyone interested in the entire series Wheel Of Time by Robert Jordan before I give it to GoodWill?

First one is good, and I've heard good things about the other original books. Just don't read anything written by Brian Herbert, if you value your soul.

The first one is one of the ten or so best SF books ever written. They're uneven from there, although "God-Emperor of Dune" is probably the standout.

Herbert never wanted to write sequels, and IMO "Dune" didn't need one.

I'm with Steve on the movies, BTW - the Sci-Fi miniseries was better than Lynch's mess, but both are indecipherable unless you've read the book.
