Was anyone else in Nashville, TN in the early 1990s? I’m planning a work trip there this spring, which started me on a stroll down memory lane. There were a ton of hard rock and metal bands playing original music. I’ve put together a playlist with some old footage from YouTube, but I know there are a lot of other bands I’m missing. There was one called Familiar Stranger, and if I’m not totally delusional (which is possible), John Cowan from New Grass Revival had a rock band for a short time that used to shred the hell out of “Shortnin’ Bread.”

Normally, I think cell phones and live music are a bad mix, but I do wish there was more video footage of this era.
