I thought I'd drop back into Ultimatemetal and see what the place looks like these days. It feels like returning to an old house that you moved away from so many years ago.
I haven't been here for years. It looks and feels completely different. Some of the threads in various forums that ended - or were abandoned - up to ten years ago contain a real Miss Havisham vibe to them and are quite eerie. Other things have moved on in significant ways.
Hard to believe it's been nearly 15 years since I signed up to this place back when there was a very small yet connected community, mostly centred around the Opeth forum. I wonder how many old-time members are still here, floating around these halls like disembodied phantasms from a past wreathed in shadows and faded memories.
