ECHOTERRA Announces New Singer and Drummer

"We would like to officially welcome our new band mates; singer Melissa Ferlaak and drummer Adam Sagan. Melissa is known for her vocals on Visions of Atlantis' third release, Trinity. Adam is well known for his work with the Canadian metal band, Into Eternity.

We have parted ways with singer Suvi Virtanen for the sole reason that she is located in Sweden while the rest of the band is located in the U.S. which makes it very difficult to perform live. We would like to thank her for her phenomenal performance on our debut cd and we wish her nothing but the best in her future projects. Adam replaces John Gensmer since John is busy with his main band Epicurean and will not have the time to dedicate to Echoterra; we send him a huge thank you as well and we look forward to hearing Epicurean's next album.

Melissa Ferlaak on joining Echoterra: "So thrilled to be a part of the Echoterra team. We had a great time recording for the EP and it's great to work with such talented guys. It will be such an unexpectedly fun year coming up! Hope you all can join us!"

We are currently working on a brand new EP which will feature three re-recorded songs with Melissa and a couple of instrumentals that were left off the first album. We have uploaded one of these songs, In Your Eyes, to our myspace ( www.myspace.com/echoterra ) so please check it out and let us know your thoughts. We will shoot a video for In Your Eyes early next year and it will be on the EP as well.

With our new lineup in place, we are now able to perform live and we have our first show confirmed: Saturday February 6, 2009 in St. Paul, Minnesota opening for Epica. More shows will be announced soon and we look forward to seeing our friends and fans in 2010!"

Echoterra also features in it's ranks Keyboardist/Songwriter Jonah W. (Pyramaze, Structure of Inhumanity, ex-Written In Blood), Guitarist/Lyricist Yan Leviathan (Avian) and Bassist/Vocalist Brian Hollenbeck (Avian).

Sad to see Suvi go, but definitely happy to see Melissa take up the vocal reins! Trinity is one of the highly-listened-to albums in my collection :headbang:
