From Jonah W (Pyramaze, Written in Blood, Structure of Inhumanity)

I am pleased to announce my new project ECHOTERRA. It is Ultra Symphonic and Epic Female Fronted Rock/Metal that features myself on keys and is my first step as a main songwriter, composer, and producer of vocals. In addition, it features Yan Leviathan (Avian) on guitars and production, Suvi Virtanen (Therion) on vocals, and John Gensmer (Epicurean) on drums!

Please go give it a listen and let me know what you think...

Well, I listened to the two tunes several times now, but they haven't grabbed me yet to be honest... I like the keys of course, especially some parts of the Overture are quite amazing, but the female vocals don't really do it for me... somehow the song seems a little long-winded... I'll give it some more listens though, maybe it starts growing...

I'm very curious about the big news of SOI! :kickass:

And what about WIB? Hope there also will be news some time!

im in much the same boat, the vocals dont float it ( the boat) at all. also seems to me it doesn't know if it wants to be fast or slow, kind of stuck in the middle ( i think the vocals pay a role in that).

the keys work is still good :worship:

We've uploaded the first two tracks of our upcoming cd, The Law Of One. You can now listen to the first 12 minutes of the album at our myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/echoterra

The Law Of One will be available in North America and on line via CD Baby and iTunes this September and will be released by Blinding Force Recordings. European and Japan released dates will be announced at a later date.

So after extensive listening to the tracks that are up, I have to say the music is just freaking awesome. Extremely catchy, epic, with blistering hooks and solos. But the vocals will just never grow on me. They seem very, very forced and pretty monotone. I wonder if it is because the singer is new to singing, or if it is the recordings, but it just seems very set apart from the rest of the group. Like two completely different entities that don't mesh very well. I hope to see this group live to see if it is any different, because I really dig a lot of what is going on here.

ECHOTERRA's The Law of One is now available for pre-order direct from Blinding Force Recordings. The price is $14.99 for U.S. customers and $19.99 for the anyone outside of the U.S. - Shipping is free.
