According to The Pulse Of Radio, PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder and SOUNDGARDEN frontman Chris Cornell are among the artists who are contributing covers of classic BEATLES songs for a new Netflix animated series called "Beat Bugs". Other artists who are participating include Pink, THE SHINS, OF MONSTERS AND MEN, Regina Spektor, James Corden with Birdy, James Bay and more. Some 50 signature Lennon/McCartney tunes will be covered for the show, which debuts on the streaming service this August. The series focuses on five insect best friends who form the Beat Bugs and explore and learn about the suburban backyard where they reside. Vedder said in a statement: "Personally, I'm very grateful to be part of [creator] Josh's [Wakely] vision. A tremendous show for kids that combines beautiful animation with great stories and obviously some of the best songs ever written." Vedder's version of "Magical Mystery Tour" can be heard on the series trailer, while Cornell will handle "Drive My Car" and Pink will sing "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". Vedder and PEARL JAM will head out on a North American tour this year, with plans afoot to celebrate the group's 25th anniversary. Cornell is in the studio with SOUNDGARDEN working on the band's seventh album.
