More off topic...I don't know much about what woods are used for what reason. I like the sound of my alder but, why aren't other woods used, like maybe cherry, or even...pine? I dunno, just wondering.

some woods aren't hard enough, some are too hard and/or too fragile.. and others just don't give a nice tone

haha lol i meant maple fretboard... well its just plane maple neck.. you know..

Yeah, but fretboard really doesn't bother me that much, i like ebony, rosewood and maple equally, makes the smallest of differences.
