Therion, but only on a few songs. If you check out the albums Lemuria and Sirius B, you'll find a few songs:
"The Wondrous World of Punt"
"Abraxas"
"Son of the Sun"
Some songs on other albums derive from Egyptian mythology; for instance, "Eternal Return" from Deggial is about the concept of eternal return that has its roots in Egyptian mythology.
Apparently not as similar as I thought...there are overlapping practices and influences, but the structure of worship seems to be different. Still, it might be interesting depending on what you're looking for.
Yeah, he was on Gothic Kabbalah a ton, and he worked with them on Lemuria and Sirius B, I'm pretty sure. Only a few songs on the latter two, though. I know he definitely sang the chorus vocals on The Khlysti Evangelist; that song kicks fuckin' ass.
I checked out Amaseffer's myspace. They're okay, not really my favorite though. Maybe I'll give them another try soon.
Neo-classical and power metal bands such Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force, Rhapsody of fire, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth and Symphony X, to name a few are bands who are known to incorporate mythological themes into their music. Symphony X, especially are known to make album after albums based on ancient mythology. Their album 'V, the new mythological suite' was based on the Egyptian mythology- the tale of Atlantis, to be precise.
