yesterday there was this brunch for student affairs offices and you were given a balloon that had a clue in it to tell you a person in another office who you had to talk to and get to know.

and the clue that someone got that was me just said "can speak in a RI accent."

my only defense was that i can't do it "on command."

it took me living in chicago for 9 yrs to realize many st. louis ppl actually do have a southern-ish accent

I didn't realize I had a Jersey accent until it was pointed out to me by a Canadian.

people tell me I have a mass accent but only when I get really pissed. I must have gotten it from my mom because my dad intentionally lost his in an effort to appear less provincial.

Apparently, my jersey only comes out when naming the treat of the cacao bean, CHAWCOLATE!

I picked up a British accent from the 3 years I lived in Colorado.

I am not even going to attempt to clasify my accent. It has a lot of very different seeds, both in french and english...

p.s. greg do you still have the "connecticut" accent that caused me to drop the middle of certain words?

i have the connecticut accent every time i speak to someone normally. its only on the phone with students or when i am teaching guitar in RI that i slip back into the "impure" accent.

mindspell has a nice accent tho. it's like an annoying accent like the webster mass kind.

Since I'm from Wisconsin I have no accent. This is the only state where the english language can be heard in it's true, Websters Dictionary approved pronounciation.
