First time trying out Eminence speakers for real. I'm a Celestion fan no doubt but the Governor is definitely starting to grow on me.

Sounds good but I would still go with two Governors over a mix

Really like the Governor/e906 combo! Would be interesting to hear the v30 in this test.

Governor/57 sounded best to me. Would have liked to hear a v30 in there for comparison, too.

OT- do you like the 906 much more so than 609? Would have liked to see an MD421II as well..

I think the 906 is way better. Has the different high shelving so you can really dial it in so to speak

This reminds me why I've never liked Eminence mic'd up. The midrange just sounds totally wrong.

I like the Governor. Reminds me of a V30 a great deal. It is meant to sound like a V30, right?

The Governor is ok, but I would take any Celestion over it.

Yeah, it's like the midrange is in "cocked-wah" mode and brings weird aspects of the amp/pick attack out. It doesn't sit in a mix to me, just sticks out on top.
