A friend of mine gave me their cd a couple of weeks ago and I've been jamming it off and on in my truck and I am really diggin the production on it. I talked to one of the guitarists and he said they used 6505 into Mesa oversized, a couple of different Ibanez RGs with passives (have switched to EMGs since the album) tuned to drop A#(Bb) for the album. Sometimes the vocals aren't my cup of tea but overall I'm liking it. May not be for everyone but I thought I'd mention it in case somebody else is into this kind of music. They are signed to Victory right now, touring with a few good bands at the mo'. Emmure's MySpace. My fav song on there is the one called "False Love in Real Life" as far as riffage goes. There are quite a few good tracks on the cd. My friend calls them a "breakdown band". Haha. I agree, but I think they do it well.

good band! ive got their last disc (the one before the newest). i agree about the vocals, slightly emotional. apparently they set out to be the heaviest / most emotional band. however i feel their song writing formula tires me quickly

Good band. A lot of bands I record open for them a lot. (mass metal) I think Zuess did a great job on both CDs, the snare on the new one is godly.

the production on this new album is killer!

the snare on the new one is godly.
its rediculas! i love it haha

although i was expecting this new album to be heavier than it is,

however i feel their song writing formula tires me quickly
same here, alot of the new album seems quite repetitive.

a killer album to check out though is Whitechapels new album 'This Is Exile'!!!!!
been on repeat for the past few weeks now haha

Offtopic, but 006 may I ask what that guitarsound is on Hordes of the Morningstar?:worship:

Thanks man! If I remember correctly we used my JSX (crunch channel) for all the guitars. The guitar was a Schecter C-1 Stealth with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge. I don't remember what tuning they were using. Marshall 2x12 (I had a V30 and a T75 in it), mic'ed the V30 with a single SM57 on-axis about a half-inch from the grill cloth. Double-tracked, 1 per side 100% L/R.

I may actually be re-mixing it before it gets released, but not sure yet. They are in talks with Trendkill Records right now about releasing it and a possible European tour in the distance. If they go I will be playing bass for them during the tour most likely. And if Trendkill picks it up then I will definitely be re-mixing it and spend a lot more time.
