Gibson epiphone lespaul studio with stockpickups, dr 10 tight fits -> Peavey Valveking clean channel trebile 5 mid 5 bass 3 (less muddy) volume 3 -> Engl e520 pre amp -> Rocktron hush -> back into peavey VK 100 -> some weird peavey 4x12 cab with sheifields -> sm 57 - > presonus fp10

4 guitars, 1 clean 1 crunch 2 dist, drum kit from hell. not split up and eq'd

i like it. its a good hard rock tone

yeah thats kinda the sound i was looking for though a taking back sunday type of sound for this band haha.

I don't get your "VK clean channel > Engl pre > hush > VK" signal chain...

Why did you do that ?

The tone can be cool for post whatever/punk/rock-ish type of stuff, but i wouldn't use it for metal

i am using my valvekings power amp, but the only way i can get sound out of it is to run the guitar into its input and run the engl through its fx send, so the valveking is perfectly dry, so i am just using the engl.

Or Guitar into Engl > FX Return of Valaveking> Cab> Capture with Mic.

+1. I remember testing to use my multi effect unit as an amp pre and then plugged it in the power amp section of my Bandit 112, where the jack input was called "power amp input" or something.

So i guess you may have the similar thing on your Valveking (something that bypasses the VK preamp section), maybe it's the FX return Gorath talks about.

thanks guys i will try that in like 3 minutes but if i know this pos vk right. it won't make a sound unless you have something in the input jack

This tone does not work for this music at all!

Also, the kick has no high frequencies and is difficult to distinguish in the mix.

its not even mixed dude haha. it was just a straight up raw test of my engl. miked through my horribl horrble cab. i'll post the real mix later tonight
