In a recent interview with Spain's "Heavy Demons" radio show, ENTOMBED A.D. vocalist L.G. Petrov explained how the band manages to have "fun" while playing death metal. Petrov fronted ENTOMBED A.D. predecessor group ENTOMBED when it became one of the first pure death metal acts to transition into the more accessible and rock-flavored style known as "death 'n' roll" on its landmark 1993 album, "Wolverine Blues". ENTOMBED would largely continue in that direction until its 2014 split due to a legal dispite between members over the band's name. "There is positive aggression," he said (see video below). "Of course, we can be mad, of course, but, these aggressive feelings we take out on stage, so when you come off stage, you're drained of energy. The only power you have is to have a beer and a smile. [Laughs] Being angry all the time, it just tears you apart. We just [makes grinning face]. It's all good. It's all good." Petrov was then asked what he misses and doesn't miss from the 1990s, a time when ENTOMBED was active on both the studio and touring front. "We try to relive it as much as possible," he said. "Of course, we get older and the drinks get smaller. [Laughs] But it's a way of life. Being on tour is great. We've released lots of albums throughout the years and then this is what we do and what we feel we should do: Release an album, go on tour, rest a little bit, you do riffs during soundcheck, jamming stuff. If something is good, you record it, save it, wait until you get back home, listen to it. We throw away 80 percent and keep the 20 percent, then it's another [cycle]. The cycle goes on. It's a very, very good feeling." ENTOMBED A.D.'s new album, "Bowels Of Earth" was released on August 30 via Century Media. ENTOMBED A.D. was formed in 2014 when Petrov and other members of ENTOMBED decided to change the band's name in order to avoid a legal battle with ENTOMBED guitarist Alex Hellid, who didn't want his former bandmates to use the ENTOMBED moniker.
