EPICA News - Guitarist, Ad Sluijter, Parts Ways

Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers EPICA have issued the following message:

"We are sad to announce that (guitarist) Ad (Sluijter) has decided to part ways with Epica. Ad is a founding member of Epica and has been of great value to the band. We would like to use this opportunity to thank Ad for his everlasting devotion for Epica!

This seems like it was a really hard decision for him to come to, but I'm glad to hear it's because he wants to continue working on music on his own terms. The few times I met Ad at shows he seemed really down to earth, and very friendly. Best wishes to him wherever his music takes him.
