I caught most of this show in Portland last Saturday. Sorry, LadyK, won't be able to catch your band as I'm 3000 miles away!

Came from the company holiday party, so got there a bit late, but enough to see all of Scar Symmetry and Epica, missing Blackguard and Agonist.

This is the fourth time I've seen Epica so noticed a few things:

Coen got himself a new swivel keyboard stand like the one Jordan Rudess uses. That worked amazingly well to make him appear as part of the show rather than stuck in the back. He grabbed a stick and one-handed the keys and helped out Arien on drums for one song. Coen also jumped out and helped Isaac strum a bit.

Simone led a bit of a sing along during Cry for the Moon, that was both new and fun. (Although nothing will ever compare to Bruce Dickinson leading 15,000 Maiden fans in Fear of the Dark).

Show was better attended than Epica's last visit to Portland in February. Mark even commented that next time around they might find a bigger venue..."maybe a place with TWO toilets".

Hope all you east coasters enjoy the show.

Jasonic -- comment away! I'm a big girl -- I can give back as good as I get ;)
Rev -- of course, m'dear! I'll give you a call Thursday and we'll figure out where to meet up afore the show.
seh750 -- I'll be on the lookout for that keyboard stand & the multi-tasking on drums. That should be fun. :)

I'm also hearing that The Agonist has been added to this bill. YEA!! :)

Who else is gonna be there?!
