He got some very nice sounds and gear. And that playing is excellent

Although in one of the videos he says that the guitar sounds better without the backplate than with it

Never tried one, but they sure look fine, especially this

is gorgeous.

They all seem to have a v-shaped neck though..

Seriously - try out an Eric Johnson strat in a store. I tried one out with the Fender Supersonic 2x12 combo and it was fucking epic. I will never forget it. They had to ask me to leave the store (they were closing.) LOL

I hope I can test one sometime. The local small stores don't have any of the "expensive" fenders. I was considering the American std too.. But must wait for few moths at least, just got Engl 530 few weeks ago

Never tried his guitars, but he's one of my favourite players evah. His playing is smooth and very unique (for me) and his tones... oh boy, wish I could get close. Any of you guys watched the Austin DVD ?
