Ermz systematic guide questions

I bought Ermz guide and have a few questions about guitar EQ.

#1 - He doesn't talk about Amp sims, only real amps. Does the same EQ filtering he speaks of with real amps apply to sims? Do they need any special treatment he doesn't cover?

#2 - Quad tracking, Do I take two guitars left, buss them together, take the two right guitars and buss them together. then add the EQ to the busses? Or do I do all 4 individually? Should they all receive the exact same high / low pass & subsequent cuts as he suggests?

I actually have a new question too...

In the bass section of the guide Ermz suggests using a Linear Phase EQ in one part. Obviously, the EQ messes with the phase of the tracks, but while the plugin is active my bass is completely behind time and is flamming really hard...

I'm confused about why he would use a linear EQ or how he uses it without messing up the tracks and delaying them.
