U.S. expected to soon end tax-break dispute

The European Union trade commissioner, Pascal Lamy, said he expected U.S. lawmakers to soon repeal an export-tax credit that led the EU to place sanctions on U.S. imports for the first time on Monday.

Yeah, I really don't know which side to come down on this whole thing--economics and trade stuff tends to put me to sleep, so I'm woefully misinformed about what's fair and what's not.

Well the US has done the exact same thing with us with wood. Your government, instead of negociating, slapped a tax on our wood exports illegally in violation with the Free trade agreement. Thousands of jobs have been lost in Quebec because of that because our wood is no longer competitive. Since our government has no balls to stand up to your government, they have tried to negociate something, without much success, and are not willing to take this to international courts.
