Amy Lee has told Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that she "absolutely" still feels a sense of nostalgia when she revisits EVANESCENCE's breakthrough hit, "Bring Me To Life", in the band's live performances. "It's the past and present all at once when performing songs from [EVANESCENCE's debut album] 'Fallen'. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing people in the audience singing along with you and feeling that it means something to them. I know how passionate I am about songs I fell in love with in high school — I hear PORTISHEAD or BJORK or TOOL on the radio and memories come flooding back and it makes me feel so good. It's an incredible thing to know that I could be a part of that for someone else. 'Bring Me To Life' not only brings me back to when I was making the song and entering this whole crazy scene, it brings back a thousand memories we've made over the years performing it." EVANESCENCE's latest album, 2017's "Synthesis", included a re-imagining of "Bring Me To Life" without the guest rap by Paul McCoy of 12 STONES. The original version of "Bring Me to Life" reached No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was EVANESCENCE's first U.K. No. 1 single. "Fallen" has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and was certified seven times platinum in the U.S. EVANESCENCE has around two dozen live appearances scheduled this spring and summer, with plans to spend the rest of the time writing material for its long-awaited follow-up to 2011's self-titled effort.
