Event ALP5 - Any thoughts?

I've seen the Event ALP5s mentioned in a few places as being awesome but honestly damned if i can find a review?

Anyone here got any experience with them?

Can't speak for the ALP5's but I have the TR8's and I love them.

ive had tr5s, tr8s and now asp8s. i like the way event monitors sound for sure. theyve alway been solid as a company. that said, my tr5 were lacking in the bass department as pretty much all 5" woofers are. i would get some 8" monitors if you want the bass to sound true when translating to other systems. 5" monitors make you work way too hard for way too long. if you have some 8" and 5" then you can bounce back and forth. i would want 8" monitors first though. check out the tr8s, youll be happier longer.

As Oz knows, i'm undergoing quite a big new project so i rekon a few studio upgrades are in order.

I'm not really wanting to spend more than £200 on monitors as my room isn't that good so anything else on them would be wasted really

i think i read on gearslutz, the general consensus is the alp5's are bad. My friend has the hs80m's and they're cool, but i think my tr8's are much better.

I'm gonna head out tomorrow and check out a few Event monitors. I've really got my eyes on the ASP8s after all the reviews and testimonials. The worst thing is their price over here in Aus.

I'll give some feedback on how they stack up to each other tomorrow, hopefully.

Check out the pics on the website, it seems like they have an awesome listening room. Prices on things seem pretty good compared to other places in Oz also. EG., (not speakers but a price example) Firepod listed at $899 (wondering what they would come donw to?) compared to Billy Hydes and Allans listed at $1099. Might be worth checking them out.

Yeah that's one of the places I'm going to. I want to check out those Adam A7s, and also compare the KRK RP8s to a variety of other monitors. I found them a bit fatiguing in the mids (around the crossover point) at my friend's place and wanna see if that's true for all of them.

Also it seems the Event ASP8s are out of stock down here, but a friend of mine who works at Factory Sound assures me he can do a good deal on them in early Feb.
