not their best song, but it's alright. that whole album is too poppy and straight-forward for my tastes. obviously it's still good, but it doesn't compare to any of the other material.
I disagree. they are two totally different monsters, but a lot of QOTSA material (mostly the first three albums) can certainly hold its own against Kyuss. It's the same mastermind, afterall.
in other news: i was listening to wretch yesterday while in deadlock traffic while it seemed to be about 100 degrees outside. that is a pretty amazing album even if it doesn't represent the "classic" kyuss sound.
Well the reason why Kyuss are uncomparable within the "genre" is because their music was the output of many masterminds: Homme, Bjork, Garcia, even Oliveri. And don't forget that even Chris Goss' sound mastery was important on the whole result.

He did write more than the others but that doesn't mean that these others were just playing what he told them, not that their whole output would be the same without Goss' influence on it.
