Steven Adler says that "it was really awesome" that he got to perform with GUNS N' ROSES on the band's reunion tour. Although the drummer wasn't included in the lineup that launched the "Not In This Lifetime" trek in 2016, Adler rejoined GUNS N' ROSES at several shows on the tour, including three stops on the U.S. leg and one gig in Buenos Aires, Argentina, playing drums on "Out Ta Get Me" and "My Michelle". During an appearance on this past Thursday's (December 12) episode of "Trunk Nation: L.A. Invasion" on SiriusXM, Adler said that he is grateful he got to share the stage again with his former bandmates. "Like Freddie Mercury said, 'One year of love is better than a lifetime alone,'" he said. "And I had five great years. And they let me go up and play a few shows, a couple of songs, and it was really awesome. Just to be on stage with Slash and Duff [McKagan] and Axl [Rose] again. It's not exactly what I wanted, but, like Freddie said, 'One year of love is better than a lifetime alone.' In February 2017, Adler revealed to podcaster Mitch Lafon that he was originally supposed to appear at more than just a handful of shows on the GUNS N' ROSES reunion trek. He claimed that he expected to play all the "Appetite For Destruction" material during the entire tour, only to be told he was out after he hurt his back during rehearsals. Speculation was rampant that Adler would participate in at least a portion of the reunion tour ever since GUNS made it official in January 2016. The regular GUNS drummer for several years has been Frank Ferrer, who is also part of the current lineup. Steven has spent the last few months playing sporadic shows with ADLER'S APPETITE, also featuring Ariel Kamin, the singer of Argentinian GN'R tribute band SON OF A GUN, plus guitarists Michael Thomas and Alistair James, and bassist Tanya O Callaghan. GUNS N' ROSES was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012. Adler, Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum attended the ceremony, while Rose and former guitarist Izzy Stradlin stayed home.
