Exodus opening for Sum41 in San Francisco

Did anyone hear about this bullshit?

Yeah, I saw it. I think it's great. Sum41 may not be my
thing, and I don't think much of them, but I'd call this
the nu-school paying homage to the old school.
More opportunities to see *OUR*bands.

Who's coming with me to get metalled out, and beat the fuck out of some pink haired whiny sum41 emo wannabe poseurs?!

Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my
crown/For I am Mars, The God of War, and I will cut you down.

So Exodus should keep playing shithole clubs? God forbid any Sum 41 fans at the show see Exodus and decide to go buy their cds. People dont know if they like something if they have never heard it before.

Exodus plays shithole clubs now. Sorry, but it's the truth.
And nobody huge like Metallica is calling Exodus to do
arena stuff. Let's be real now.

Yeah, Exodus doesn't need record sales. You're sssooo right.

Ok.

  I agree with everything you said, I think its great they are opening for them! Thats what I meant!

So what! Sum41 aren't nu-metal. They're just paying homage to the stuff that got them going. Did you hear the cover song they did for this movie called FUBAR. They love old school metal and if you listened to just some of their stuff you'd hear the metal influences. I'm not claiming to be a fan of theirs but at least they're ballsy enough to do something like have Exodus open for them.

I agree, as gay as cum41 is, I think it will be great for all their fans to get their faces kicked in by a thrash band! Maybe some of those people will like Exodus and buy their records.
It IS too bad that the big bands like Slayer who can pack thousands of people into shows never bring bands like Exodus on the road. Perhaps that will change.

Testament is the ONLY metal band that really cares to help other metal brothers! When you go to a Slayer show, you are certain to HATE all the opening bands.

I say Exodus should play whenever and wherever they can . . . the world is in dire need of real metal! There is a generation out there that needs to be reminded what REAL METAL is.

:headbang:

It is too bad, but even bands like Slayer get to choose.
Maybe Exodus and Slayer dont get along perhaps in
the same regard that megadeth doesnt get along with
Slayer. I dont know, just spit balling. Exodus in all fairness
was "inactive" as far as the public was concerned. From 95-
2000, it was pretty Quiet in the Exodus camp.
Who knows, maybe Exodus has been invited and passes.
Like at the New Years Eve Gig- Dude- opening for ROB
FUCKING HALFORD.

I dunno, just spitballing.

....getting awfully defensive there. They love old school metal? I bet they don't know more than 5-10 bands. They must like pop-punk over metal, otherwise they'd be playing it, or they must not have enough skill to play metal, so either way they're a waste of oxygen (i don't care about people liking other types of music, but when they claim to listen to or be something they aren't it pisses me off).

So what if they don't know more than 5-10 bands.
So what? What's wrong with 5-10 bands. Some people
just love music, they dont have to be die-hards to be down
with it. It's ok to play music that's different than what
you listen to. Sum41 isn't going around pretending to be
what they're not. I've heard them incorporate Iron Maiden
parts in their live songs. Also Slayer. They're respecting
and showing love for the old school. I think it's cool.
In the commercial world, I'd consider it gutsy.
Lighten Up.
