going to see Exodus later this month and very excited. ANyone seen them (recently or ever )? Caught an old bootleg of them and it looked like they put on a pretty good show.
They're with 3 inches of blood, too. Never heard them, but I've read that they're Maiden-esque with 2 vocalists. Feel free to throw in your 2 cents on them.

I love Exodus. I caught them last year with Megadeth and it was awesome. Dave went into this speech about how Everyone left Exodus out of the loop - and how the 'big 4' should have been the 'big five.' Then Megadeth started playing "Back in the Day" and all the dudes from Exodus came out on stage and sang along. It was a great show for both bands.

I saw Exodus last night :D :D :headbang:

I've been a huge Exodus fan since 1985.
They put on a great show.
One suggestion.........brush up on the brand new CD called "Shovel Headed Kill Machine".

As awesome as they were, they didn't sing hardly ANY of my favorite songs. They seem to forget who exactly it was in the audience. It seems as though they were more into trying to sell the new CD than play what the fans wanted to hear. They played virtually the entire new CD, a few songs off "Tempo of the Damned" and 3 from "Bonded By Blood".

Here's the set list:
Bonded By Blood
Raze
Deathamphetamine
Karma's Message
Black List
A Lesson in Violence
Altered Boy
Now Thy Death Day Come
Shudder to Think
Scar Spangled Banner
Pirahna
I Am Abomination
44 Magnum Opus
Shovel Headed Kill Machine
War is My Shepherd
Strike of the Beast

NO - Toxic Waltz
NO - And Then There Were None
NO - Brain Dead
NO - Chemi Kill
NO - Fabulous Disaster
NO - Lowrider (would've been kick ass in a town like Houston)
NO - Thorn in My Side
NO - Architect of Pain
NO - Good Day to Die

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed the show, but I was really looking forward to hearing SOME of these songs. I'm amazed they actually play shows without Toxic Waltz. :zombie:

Most of the crowd was singing to the "Bonded..." songs, but not many knew any of the newer songs. Everyone kept screaming for older songs, but.....they never strayed from the list.

Another suggestion is to get close to the right side of the stage where Gary Holt stands. He puts on a great show and that guy knows how to shred! :headbang:

I got some great pics of the show. I just have to get them posted somewhere.

Have a great time!

Another thing.
I would suggest getting there early enough to see one of the opening bands called "Watch Them Die".
I thought they did very well.
Everyone that I spoke to in the audience (except 1) thought they did very well.
:headbang:

Love Exodus and they put on a great show! Saw them in July 2004, best gig I've been to.

Folkes - Gary said 'I'm sick to death of playing Toxic Waltz' and Gary really doesn't like Zet anymore so I doubt Fabulous, Pleasures, Impact or Force will get much of a look in.

I know Lee knows all of Bonded by Blood and it's one of his favourite albums so I'm assuming he's dying to play more of it. Hopefully I can score a backstage pass when they play here in a month.

I can understand not wanting to play a song anymore, but they didn't even have an album for 12 years! What were they doing all that time? It's not like they had to play "Enter Sandman" 1,000 shows in a row. ;) Eh, it's up to him, anyway. I'm just happy as hell I got to see them do it last year on the BTU tour with Megadeth.

They got normal jobs for ages e.g. roofer, electrictian...

I think Gary wants to prove that Exodus is a force in the 21st Century by not relying on the old material like a lot of bands do. The band could just play 2 off the album and 'get to the old shit' but I think that would undermine the point of even putting it out new albums. I support this because I do like the new Exodus stuff whereas other bands e.g. Anthrax and Megadeth I'd want to play a lot more old stuff.

Oh man I fuckin love toxic waltz:zombie: too bad they wont play it! I will have to break out bonded by blood and go over those classics and I have been listening to the new cd a shitload, so im good there. I love the new shit, but I agree Fabulous disaster and zetro shit would have been nice!

Agreed, and understood. I always hated when a band released a new album and rarely played anything off it (Motorhead's Inferno tour comes to mind). Exodus mainly playing newer stuff is great, and I can't wait for them to come back around sometime and play a lot of new stuff! :D

Agreed.
But I think they could find a happy medium.
Not all old, and not all new.

They could've easily played 8 new and 8 old....hell, I'd even take less........ but 3 old? Gimme 3 more and I'll go home a happy camper. That still gives them 10 new.

:D

Dude, they are breaking in a new singer for one. They have done the "best of " tour set list. Obviously, they are trying to show that their last 2 cds show that they aren't like alot of old bands resting on their old material. Haha, I love the Exodus interview in Metal Maniacs as it sounds like it will be a bloody cold day in Arizona before they play Toxic Waltz again.

I saw them on the first night of the full tour with all the other bands here in Tempe Arizona. I love hearing all the new bands. I am glad it and the last cd get alot of attention as it shows many people that Exodus still can kick ass and not just rely on the old material. 3 inches of blood and Watch them die rocked! I think I preferred Crisis more in the old days than the modern material.
