I own both of this band's releases, and it is safe to say that this is some of the most beautiful, powerful and intense music I've come across. It is similar to Godspeed but without electronics and alot less drawn out. Simply ASTOUNDING. Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die..... is a good starting off record, it is one of those records that just changes your outlook for the moment. Enjoy!

We do?

Actually I think some people sent me an mp3 or two from these dudes, but I might be confusing them with Mono, and I don't remember what they sounded like anyhow. I dunno.

friday night lights went from what i would consider a "good movie" to a "fucking awesome movie" based on their use of explosions in the sky. Amazing band.

Wasn't me. Pretty sure lizard popped a woody over this, and I think the comparison to Mono was made. Mono are fucking awesome, and I never listen to that album. Damn.

Note: this statement/excuse was not to detract from my gayness in the slighest sense. Carry on.

I've been on a post-rock kick lately, and these guys are a large part why: both of their albums are excellent, I prefer Those Who Tell... mostly because of that song with the speech at the beginning and the one immediately after with the military drumming...

Explosions In The Sky are fuckign E X C E L L E N T.

I only own "The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place" and it is beeeeauuutiful.

Are the others on par with that release???!!

Ya, that song from FridayNightLights rules so much.

Explosions in the Sky is beautiful. They can thrive on a few waning strings of guitar and then all of a sudden plummet into a thick huge sound.

I would reccomend fans of this band check out; Do Make Say Think.
I like them a little better than Explosions in the Sky I might say, if only for the release "Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn".

By the way, this is my first post on Royal Carnage.

I would if I could! I've yet to hear them either... only the samples from their site. From what I gather, it's very sparse and minimal but somehow embodies a spring morning. Not really post-rock per se (well, depending on how you define the term), I only bring them up because they're on the excellent Temporary Residence label (home of greats like Explosions in the Sky, Mono, Eluvium and By the End of Tonight)... and I'm interested!
