F**K planned obsolescence !

I have a full bag of Sony, Philips, Sennheiser headphones with bad wires i will forcibly repair one day...
If i do that, i will never have to buy another pair of headphones in my life LOL :D

That's interesting.
My pair of AKG K501 headphones I bought more than 10 years ago is still going strong. *knocks on wood*
And I've run over the cable with my desk chair more times than I can count...

Games consoles are the worst for this. Lucky if the modern ones fire up after 3 or 4 years, conviniently they screw up or the lasers die just in time to coincide with their product lifecycle lol

you're right about that... at least microsoft sure as fuck pioneers manufacturing consoles that fail wayyyy too early. my xbox 360 is still in working condition because it's of the last build but i still have like 4 broken xboxes in the house.

it's pretty funny because i have a NES console sitting on my shelf that still works. the unit is like 22 years old.

Same here. That's what happens when you get MIJ (well Korea actually) products, they fucking last. My NES, SNES, Original Phosphor Screen GameBoy, GameCube, PlayStation, PS2 all still work, never even had a hiccup with the PS3 either. Microsoft (and even Apple) couldn't keep up with that even if they tried.

All my sony consoles have died on me. We used to have to tilt the console/turn the fuckers upside down 90% of the time to get the bloody things to boot up. Mad! I dont buy consoles any more, and thats one of the reasons lol.

Yeah my Klipsh wires just went bad on me...how do you fix this? And anyone have any good recommendations for high end headphones that are roadworthy?

Yeah I know that feeling, my laptop's warranty expired a month ago, last week: keyboard failure, HD failure...

my notebook battery died exactly 1 week after the warranty expired, so it lasted about 1 year

^thats a trailer for the video i linked above

yeah sorry, i saw it later.

Besides the planning obsolesce, there is the purposely holding back technologies.

A great example is the Ipad 3. They could totally had Siri on the Ipad 3 when they release it, but they didn't, because they will add that feature in the Ipad 4, so people could buy it as a new feature, and some other ridiculous small changes.

I've dropped these, had the cable stuck under my chair and yanked them off my head dozens of times. Bounced back without a single issue every single time.

These are what you want on your head when your Panzer division is invading Poland. Nothing else will do.

i remember this one time, must have been 5-6 years ago, i talked to this japanese guy at a bar and he told me they had been using touch-screen phones for AGES in japan... likely because then, in the western world, they could sell the old technology and bring touch-screens into the best models, then gradually start using them in lower-budget models.

gotta milk up the old technology.

Siri is going to be a free update to the iPad 3 this autumn...:Smug:

I think i had my Sennheizer hd280's for about 8years now. Not a single problem with em and i actually started to appreciate them in later years. The highs are quite nice to the ears and the subs are what im using them for. And i love them when i record my own vocals.

I have 2 pairs of AKG headphones,240 Sextetts and 140 Sextetts, that I've had since the 1970s and I've never had a problem with either.
