FAILURE, the influential rock outfit which disbanded in 1997, has confirmed what has been rumored in recent weeks: the group has reunited and will play its first live show in over fifteen years on February 13, 2014 at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets for the special evening will go on sale this Thursday, November 7 at 10 a.m. A limited-edition seven-inch single featuring two rarities will be available to the first 250 ticket purchasers at these exclusive outlets: Amoeba Music (6400 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles), Origami Vinyl (1816 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles) and Axs.com. "Once you put aside all the historical baggage, hype, regrets, etc., there is one truth that remains," explained FAILURE's Ken Andrews. "When we play music together, something happens that is very hard to define and equally difficult to duplicate." FAILURE formed in Los Angeles in the early '90s and released its debut album, "Comfort", in 1992 via Slash Records. "Magnified" followed in the spring of 1994, with the band's final offering, "Fantastic Planet", seeing the light of day in 1996. "Fantastic Planet" earned a perfect 5-star score from Alternative Press, with the magazine saying the album was able "to breathe life into the corpse of contemporary, guitar-driven rock," adding that the band was "willing to stretch the definition of both their instruments and their songs." A brand new interview with Andrews about the FAILURE reunion can be found on SPIN.com.
