Just got tickets! WOOOOOT!
Sorry, no point to this thread other than to brag. (Although I don't see how it's bragging too much when tickets are only $12 ) This should be a kick ass show. I will update after the show and let people know how it was. I've seen FTM live several times, and they are always amazing.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Spencer can pull off vocals for Periphery live at this show. I've heard lots of bad things about him live, and this is my first time seeing them.

Man, lineups for tours are getting weirder these days.
I like music from both bands, but can imagine during the set of either band, half the crowd just standing there hating it haha.
I've heard heaps of bad things about Spencer too, but he didn't sound so bad when I caught Periphery on tour mid way through last year. Maybe I was lucky and got to see him on one of his good nights, no idea.
Anyway, even if he does suck, I'd be surprised if the rest of the band aren't tight as robots. You can definitely tell when you watch Misha play live that he's spent a time of time practicing his balls off to a click track for a long time.

^ agreed! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Misha and his band perform. I have no doubt they will bring the tight-nit djent.

And I think tour managers match different genre bands together for exposure and trying to get kids into different kinds of music they haven't heard before. I know, for me anyways, whenever I see a band live before just hearing one of their songs on the radio or youtube, I tend to like that band faster and much more. Seeing great new bands perform live just opens doors, so to speak. My wife always dismissed bands like Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater and never gave them a shot. Then I took her to see Megadeth and Dream Theater on Gigantour several years back and she immediately fell in love with both bands. Same with Iron Maiden. Seeing bands live in a good performance can really help introduce people to new awesome bands. So, in that sense, I can see why they do it. :)
