Falconer's Black Moon Rising

Falconer has always had this issue where I want to hear more vocals because they feel like they're mixed too low. Hmmm. Interesting I'm not the only one who feels this way.

My complaint, which is similar, is just how high the double bass is in the mix for most of their stuff. It's usually not that distracting, but I always thought Kamelot hit the right balance on their more double-bassy power metal material. This is still a band who still very much "has it", and I am quite looking forward to Falconer's new album!

It was really bad on the debut, which has many of their best songs :erk: but it's gotten much better since IMHO . Northwind really brings it all together. probably my favorite album for that reason.

Hmmmm... I wasn't into the last album too much, but I think I like this.

I feel compelled to ask how you couldn't possibly like the last album. Falconer rarely deviates from their musical formula, so you know you're going to get badass, melodic, folk-inspired heavy metal every album.

Unless the Swedish turned you off. Which I find silly, but I guess a few people were unhappy that the last album was all in Swedish.

I'll get it. I like the last few Falconer discs. Only wish Mattias could actually book shows more easily (with Falconer that is).

They pretty much work around his schedule as an actor, so it's tough to book metal shows when your frontman is performing another gig at eight shows a week (evenings and matinees.) I do agree with you and wish Falconer could do more shows, but I think it's pretty groovy that they're willing to work around his schedule.

yeah i really liked the albums before the last one but didnt care for the Swedish one. Northwind i thought was amazing, hope they go back to that.

Some people just seem to have a blind spot for anything not in their native language. I think we are spoiled a bit since most bands sing in English. Personally, I enjoy the change of pace in hearing other languages. Hell, some bands are better when they are singing in their native language.

Falconer is the same, whether performing the song in English or in Swedish. Which is to say - they're awesome regardless of the language.

Amazing album. One of the best of the year!

Interesting if you look at the history of this festival and within the budget of the festival Falconer would be the top requested band left that never made it to PP yet. All other bands that were requested more than them eventually made it but Falconer!

Maybe one day the planets will align and the schedule will work out. Would love to see them play PP.

I prefer English so I can more easily sing along (alone, because I'm terrible), but I loved the Swedish album as well.
