"You Did It Wrong"
During the battle of Gettysburg, of all the bad decisions made those 3 days, Ewell and Sickles' came under the most scrutiny.
1. Ewell didn't act as boldly as his predessor Stonewall Jackson and didn't take full advantage of Culp's Hill. Some say this could have been a huge turning point in the war had Ewell not held back. General Trimble was the most outspoken against Ewell's actions: "Give me a division and I will take that hill... give me one brigade and I will take that hill... give me one regiment and I will take that hill!"
2. Sickles, to save himself from another massacre, pulled his flank nearly a mile off course leaving the Union at Little Round Top severely vulnerable (which is where Chamberlain had to step in). Needless to say, General Meade was a little ticked off.
