Since seeing them in July I've been on a huge Great White kick and have bought all their albums from S/T right up to their 1994 disc, as well as their new one Back to the Rhythm.

My vote is a tie between Psycho City and Once Bitten

The Original Self Titled!!

STICK IT!!!!!! :kickass::kickass::kickass:

I´m a huge Great White fan too. They´re overwhelming. Like die hard GW fanatic it would be easy saying "Once bitten" but I prefer to choose "Can´t get there from here". In my opinion, it´s a masterpiece of rock. The two first songs ("Rollin´ stone" and "Ain´t no shame") are excellent rockers; the ballads, simply amazing and emotional ("In the tradition",...) but my favourite tune on that album and in top5 from GW is "Wooden Jesus" :headbang:

Trying to establish an order:

1. Can´t get ther from here
2. Once bitten...
3. ... Twice shy
4. Hooked
5. Back to the rythm
6. Great White
7. Psycho Motel
8. Shot in the dark
9. Let it rock

However, all of them are great.

Great White has been a hit and miss band for me. I really like the first one but Hooked is even better IMO. Not a bad track on that one! Past that I really like Recovery Live which of course has a lot of tracks from the first one along with the covers. When they do covers they really make them their own. Can't go without mentioning the song Wasted Rock Ranger which appears on a number of their best of/live cd's.

Well I'm a wasted rock ranger
I live the life of danger
On the road to find a higher high
I don't need no one's affection
All I need is my injection
An out-of-tune Les Paul'll get me by

I've been doin' gigs since I was ten
I really can't remember when
I ever had a dollar to my name
My ears are blown, my eyes are red
I got big holes inside my head
Snorting too much crystal and cocaine

I have bennies with the breakfast toast
Qualudes with the evening roast
Assorted snorts of powder in between
I don't think a day's gone by
That I wasn't drunk or high
It's the only way I keep my sanity

From Kegger's Den to Hooterville
My flaming tricks have topped the bill
A thousand empty bottles earn my name
Endless trains of one night stands
Sharing gigs with half-assed bands
And all the local groupies lay the same

Well I could have had a payin' job
Workin' for some fucked-up slob
Wife and family, true security
But I left that shit behind
For that heavy metal grind
'Cause rock'n roll is in my blood to stay
(among other things)

Hey! You're a wasted rock ranger
You'll live life of danger
Sing this song and follow it till the end
When you reach number one
You can overdose for fun
And go and visit Jimi and his friends

Hey! You're a wasted rock ranger
You'll live a life of danger
Sing this song and follow it till the end
When we reach number one
Hey! We'll all overdose for fun
And we'll hang out with Jimi and his friends
Yee haw!

:headbang:

They all lost their popularity twenty years ago?

....couldn't resist.

small faces lost popular about 40 years ago. i'd say great white stopped being popular around 1992-1993 and quiet riot around 1987.

the answer is they all performed the song "afterglow"

I thought their Zep cover album was pretty bland. No chances taken, just virtually verbatim covers of an okay batch of Zep songs. If I remember correctly.

what made its great was its a live cd and zeppelin never played the songs that close to the studio versions in a live setting. robert plant even said "jack russell sounds more like me than i ever did" or something like referring to how much jack sounds exactly like the studio versions of the songs
