On the Personal Questions thread I said I could fill a whole thread with these things, so I'm giving myself the opportunity. Since it's 1am, I'll just pull those I found while trying to finish the "survey".

So, just post your favorite lyrics relating to love. (To get my post count up, I'm doing 1 per response).

I will be here for you
All I want is you
When I see your face
All the Angels are shamed
-My Dying Bride "For You," Like Gods of the Sun

"But he's the sort who can't know
anyone intimately, least of all a
woman. He doesn't know what a woman
is. He wants you for a possession,
something to look at like a painting or an ivory box.
Something to own and to display. He doesn't want you to be real,
or to think or to live. He doesn't love you, but I love you.
I want you to have your own thoughts and ideas and feelings, even when
I hold you in my arms. It's our last chance... It's our last chance..."
-Dream Theater "Space Dye Vest," Awake
[Sample is Julian Sands from the film "A Room With A View".]

When we share the silence,
she knows what I'm saying.
Words, though unspoken, are changing heart.
2000 days have now passed since I met you,
and of so many only 400 alone.
Then we were joined by a fusion of my eyes and the face of an angel
it reminds me of her.
With you around all the days are worth living living
and when we add reality now we're still standing strong
-Dan Swano "Add Reality," Moontower

My, Nomad, you're a real romantic! I love those MDB love lyrics; Aaron is incredible when it comes to expressing such feelings. But most of the love lyrics I like the best, are written by men, about women... should be some out there that is the other way around to.

thanks! Most of those I pulled from my "Lyric of the Week" archive. That's why I could do 15 in 10 minutes. Every week I grab a lyric I like from anywhere and send it to some friends and post it at http://www.imsa.edu/~rdroth/music/LoW.html.

Oh, and there are women singing love lyrics, but not so much in metal. Oddly enough, I love Melissa Etheridge because they're still sung "to" women, but still has the female singing that I also love.

I should think about working or something.
