I just listed example bands beside each subgenre(sorry, that was kind of pointless.)

I did it just to provide some definition.

Trad/heavy. I'm lumping NWOBHM into that. Thrash metal is a very close second, and for both sub-genres I lean towards the progressive side of things.

Death Metal is for kids who like looking at blood rather than drinking it, Thrash is for kids who haven't discovered blast beats yet, Doom is for stoner kids that care more about plants than music, and Traditional is for people who are 80+ years old....

not trying to be a dick, but these categories/examples aren't the best...

would prob vote for Viking/folk if it were listed here. Voted for power metal instead. I dunno... don't think I really have a favorite genre. And many of my favorite bands don't really fall into a particular category anyway.
