I think they've progressively got worse. The debut being pretty magnificent (where each song is short and to the point), the next two being great, and the most recent one a stinker.

Even that Sauron Mediational Yoga CD was boring. He should have merged that together with the last one and released something above average.

Spot on, mate. You see, in my book, death metal isn't supposed to be VAST and EPIC, unless you're doing anything really special. Nile's use of Egyptian themes and samples on their first three albums was pretty special and suitable, and made the band stand out from the crowd a bit. However, when they decided to ditch most of the Egyptian samples, instruments etc. but still kept the song lengths at around 7:00 plus, things just got really boring. The riffs weren't interesting enough, and the ideas just weren't strong enough to warrant an album with a playing time of 52 minutes. In my opinion, death metal is all about relatively short bursts of intense brutality and killer riffs (the latter being absolutely mandatory), unless, of course, you're doing something really special (for instance "To Dream Of Ur").
