10.Dredg
Last show I went to with close friends. That deserves a spot
9.Red Sparowes/The Evpatoria Report 2005
Both bands were quite good although the sound wasn't that great, ok venue. Good memories of that one. Ellestin was there too.
8.Cult of Luna/Judoboy/Ataraxie 2004
I was still in CoL at that time. Salvation was to be released the week after the show (it sold at the show anyway) and few people, even among the downloaders , knew of it. The opened with 'Echoes' and time stopped until the very last note of 'Into the Beyond' . Talked to forum mates after the show, they had the same 'coma' impression that I had, everything went so naturally. Very special show.
7.Sigur Ros/AmiinA 2005
That was quite an experience the first time I saw them. The second wasn't half as impressive as the first and kind of ruined my memories. That's not very honest to look at it now as I almost cried during that show ..but anyway I've attended better as I speak.
6.Isis/Jesu/Dälek 2005
Aaron Turner says that a record is not able to capture the energy that Isis produce on stage. He's damn right. The band is impressive, great sound, great performance, honesty and involvement in the music. You can say what you want, you don't stay arms folded at an Isis show.Intense.
5.Mourning Beloveth/Mar de Grises/Ataraxie/Inborn Suffring 2005
Mar de Grises stole the show. A european tour is quite a crazy entreprise for them. It was damn worth the price. Intimate, magic, sincere, emotionally powerful.. the venue was filled with 50 people at best, each with the feeling of attending a one-shot live experience. Keyboard/singer in front of stage, he looks like a reptile, rattling. Impressive man behind the kit too. They played the first four tracks and the last of The Tatterdemalion Express + the third of the EP I think. I'll never forget this one. Singer of Mourning Beloveth was drunk during the show
4.Isis/Final 2006 (London)
Oceanic from beginning to end, beginning by the beginning and the end
In fiction as an encore. Only 4 years have passed since the release of Oceanic. I can't say I wasn't hit by a bit of 'nostalgia' during the show. 'Weight'
3.Overmars 2006
Horror on stage.
2.The Ocean Collective (Fest in Germany /w Gayllestin (not sure if there is a copyright on this))
Not only this is the best band I've ever seen live but they had the singer of fucking BREACH! Worst part of the show : I didn't know Breach at the time. They did 4 covers appearently from 'Venom'. Still, I can say I've seen 'Nazca' 'Isla del Sol' and 'The Greatest Bane' twice! (see below)
1.The Ocean Collective 2006 (Paris)
Aeolian has been released meanwhile. Aeolian slays. Even more live. Goodbye.
