I'm glad you made this multiple choice otherwise i wouldn't have been able to vote. I picked Feel the Fire, Years of Decay, The Killing Kind, From the Underground.... and Killbox 13.

BTW, new Overkill due in March (i think)

Overkill is way too underated a band ... their career has been spotty, but once they put out a killer record it smokes from beginning to end.

I picked Feel the Fire ... just because it's so raw and unpolished and in your face.

Back in the days my friends and I used to call them UNDERSKILLED :D

I should be getting the new Overkill shortly from a pr friend. Can't wait!! For those that don't know, RC has a review of Killbox 13... I wanted to do a Testament style feature on them, didn't know who else would be interested.

Anyhow, great band, I have some awesome bootleg vhs footage from the Gustafson days. The dvd shreds too.

Horrorscope. Yeah yeah, I know most people don't like this one but it's all about the memories that go with it....1991 was the end of an era. Otherwise, Years of Decay from the Gustafson period.

I don't have a lot of Overkill yet, not enough to vote in my own poll in fact... I've heard loose songs here and there (everything from the first five albums absolutely kills me with violent force! no remorse!) and I have "The Killing Kind" (pretty poor, "Battle" and "God-like" are cool) and "Wrecking Everything" CD version (kills) but nothing more yet. I think I'm ordering "Feel the Fire," "The Years of Decay" and "Horrorscope" soon-ish (the store I'm thinking of doesn't have "Taking Over" sadly, which would otherwise have taken priority over "Horrorscope")

Um, so, yeah, I haven't heard all of it as outlined above but "most people don't like this one"? I think it has a 94% average on Metal-Archives, and if the rest of the album is even half as good as "Coma" then consider it a fucking classic.
If you want samples i can send some your way, just add me to MSN if you have it since that would be easier than e-mailing that mess. Since you have The Killing Kind and like Battle/God-Like. listen to Feeding Frenzy and Cold, Hard Fact :D

I don't have MSN, thanks anyway, but that's cool, I can download the stuff from DC, and I'm pretty certain I'm buying Horrorscope anyway.

Eh. Sometimes, I abuse commas, and use them far too much, to make sentences really long, which makes them hard to read and I am aware of the problem, I just don't feel like doing much about it, to be honest, but hopefully you can read this anyway.
Yea i read ya, and understand. i'm not too much of a grammar nazi. You should be pretty satisfied with Horrorscope though.

ERIK YOU POSEUR FAG BUY EVERYTHING OVERKILL'S EVER DONE (INCLUDING THE LAST SHIT BOBBY BLITZ TOOK CAUSE THAT'S MORE THRASH THAN ANYTHING)

Ahem.

I almost voted for everything, to represent the fact that Overkill is incapable of making a bad album (Necroshine and FTUAB are mediocre); instead, I ended up going for Years and Horrorscope. Years probably wins.

Seriously, get The Years of Decay ASAP, man. Oh yeah, and to whoever said people don't like Horrorscope, WTF, man? That's possibly THE most beloved 'Kill album.

Oh i like Horrorscope, a lot in fact it's just that i've been listening to it since 1990 and heard it soooooo many times. I don't think a comparison of O'Kills Horrorscope to Megadeth's RIP would be totally off as far as fan appreciation goes for each band is concerned.

Re: Horrorscope, it was pretty much received like South of Heaven back in the day. I have no idea what n00bs think about it today, after the fact with the dust settled and all that. No Gustafson was a blow I guess.

Shit, I remember when people dismissed Somewhere in Time as a sellout.

Overkill is cool in that they've had different eras, and they all revolve around the guitarists in the band at the time. Sure, DD Verni and Blitz insure that it still sounds like Overkill, but everyone of their guitarists has a different style.

1st 4 albums and Fuck You EP - Gustafson

Horrorscope, I Hear Black, WFO - Merritt Gant and Rob Cannavino.

The Killing Kind, From the Underground and Below, Necroshine - Sebastian Marino and Joe Comeau

Bloodletting to current is Dave Linsk, plus Derek Tailer now....
