FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares has weighed in on the 2016 presidential election, saying in a brand new interview that if controversial Republican candidate Donald Trump "actually gets elected, I'm moving to Australia." Trump's campaign has included promises to build a wall along the Mexico-United States border, bring back waterboarding and deport Muslims from the country. In December, after Trump called for a "total and complete shutdown" of Muslim immigration to the United States, a Los Angeles Times editorial called his record of inflammatory statements a "giant soup of bigotry and intolerance." Asked by Australia's Sticks For Stones if he likes any of the candidates currently in the presidential race, Dino — who takes a great amount of pride in his Mexican culture and heritage — responded (hear audio below): "The closest thing I like is Bernie Sanders. But we have a kook running for president; we have Donald Trump." He continued: "If Donald Trump actually gets elected, I'm moving to Australia. If he is elected president, we're gonna have a lot of issues in America. He's already getting death threats, I don't know if you know that, but they just arrested some guy who sent him a death threat on Facebook, like an idiot." Dino added: "Who knows what's gonna happen? [Trump] doesn't like Muslims, he doesn't like Mexicans, and he doesn't like the foreigners. Blah blah blah blah… It's just gonna cause a war. It's gonna cause a lot of tension between Americans and other parts of the [world]. It's gonna make it worse. He's definitely gonna get death threats in America. I mean, someone's gonna try to assassinate him here. I'm surprised that that was the first one that come out. There might be a bunch of other ones already that we don't know about yet." FEAR FACTORY will embark on a U.S. headlining tour later this month. Support on the trek, which will see the band perform its classic second album "Demanufacture" in its entirety, will come from Swedish metallers SOILWORK. FEAR FACTORY's latest album, "Genexus", was released on August 7, 2015 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
