Greetings

Which female singers do you guys and gals enjoy listening to? We don't seem to talk about warblers of the fairer sex here, so I thought I'd try and get a conversation started which hopefully won't degenerate into which singer is more attractive, etc.

Personally, I don't think it gets much better than Sarah McLachlan - "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" and "Surfacing" are awesome! I'm also starting to become something of an Aimee Mann fan as well (I only have the "Magnolia" soundtrack so far), and Katie Noonan from George also rules. But of course, The Bangles are the greatest. :headbang:

Contributions, please! :)

Lita Ford
Janet Gardner from Vixen
Chrissy Steele
Joan Jett
Bianca Butthole from Betty Blowtorch is ok too... lots of attitude.

Tarja from Nightwish also, though a tad operatic and over the top sometimes for my tastes.
I still say Tarja sounds like a detergent too.
But anyway, she is quite good, and I actually liked what I heard of the Nightwish cd I just bought too amazingly! So there you go.

I know what your are going to think but i like Alanis Morrisette, Pink (especially her second album), the new young chick Avril something, Juliana Hatfield and victoria Williams. I alos like Save Ferris but I can not find the second album and Letters to Cleo (she is the voice of Josie and the Pussycats).

Speaking of the Wilsons, I just hired there best of and there for all to hear was there version of "Your the Voice".

Avril Lasagne! I cant stop singing her songs! :headbang:

Hes just a skater boi, she said see you later boi! He wasnt good enough for her! :headbang:

Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated! :headbang: :D

Tori Amos (new album in Nov), Bianca Butthole (RIP), PJ Harvey, Wendy O Williams (RIP) and Gwen Stefani. I can't really comment on any of the "new up and commers"

You know that song "The Neverending Story" from the movie of the same name?

Thats Nightwishs' music right there, they ought to cover it I think :D

I was actually just listening to Century Child, the first track is great!

The only problem is, they make Blind Guardian look like a punk band they are so over the top

Tori Amos
Kimberly Goss
Whichever Donna does lead vox for The Donnas
Alanis Morissette (in very small doses)

Last but by no means least, our very own Tania Moran :).

Who's the woman who sings the part of Sister Mary in Operation Mindcrime? She ain't half bad either.

Theresa Someoneorother? *shrug*

I would have said Tania Moran but I've only heard a couple of mp3s and therefore I couldn't honestly say I'm a fan yet, and I wasn't going to insult her intelligence by saying I was a big fan just because I know her. :)

Yes I have Phloggy. I thought it was out in October .

I'll buy it and maybe even like it, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near the standard of Little Earthquakes or Boys For Pele. Masterpieces, both of 'em!

And before anyone starts with the inevitable soccer jokes, Pele was an Aztec goddess to whom male children were often sacrificed in volcanoes :).
