Final Two Bands Announced for Flight of the Valkyries V Festival
U.S. Female-Fronted Metal Festival Announces Flames of Fury and Serpent Witch to complete the 2011 Edition
Taking the stage on November 19, 2011, alongside Benedictum, DesDemon, Echoterra, Brave and Cassandra Syndrome, will be New York-based Flames of Fury. With an eclectic mix of power, speed, thrash, epic, doom, black, symphonic and traditional and modern metal styles, Flames of Fury is sure to add their unique sound to the mix. Formed in 2009 by guitarist Jason Perez and vocalist Angelica Vargas, the band’s stage performance is something to catch! We’ve heard that Angelica practices martial arts and incorporates her studies into her stage performance. “What a great find this band is,” Dickerson says; “I can’t wait for Baltimore to hear them.”

Wrapping up the line-up and opening up the show are Maryland-based newcomers, Serpent Witch. Recently formed, the band combines doom and traditional heavy metal with a hint of blues to offer their own take on metal. “I’ve seen lots of my favorite bands on this [Sonar] stage, and we’re truly honored to be a part of this festival supporting female-fronted metal,” says Starr Piazza, vocalist.
With Flames of Fury and Serpent Witch rounding out this year’s festival, it’s sure to be a unique (and gorgeous) metal experience!
