The Sanctuary stuff is fucking excellent!!! Actually, I think this is some of Warrel's most brilliant shit lyrically...
I always thought Warrel in the Sanctuary days was like a blend of Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Halford... in some kind of weird psychedelic way.

i only own ITMB (will be refuge denied soon...) and it's excellent....the only thing i miss is jeffs guitarwork...but they have a cool own style...

Yeah, you always kind of wish to hear Jeff when you hear Warrel but Sanctuary has its own atmosphere... definitely different from Nevermore. Yet I think anyone who loves Nevermore would at least appreciate Sanctuary.

I own a split CD which contains 5 live Sanctuary tracks and the album "Metal from Hell" from Satan's Host.
The Sanctuary live ones are monumentary.

As for the Satan's Host album, these guys kick ass but the production sounds like they are in some cave. The most important thing about this album though is that the singer is called Harry Conklin. Need I say more?

Anyway for me Nevermore is the evolution of Sanctuary, not in music direction but in artistic ascdence.
My first contact with WD, JS was refuge denied way back. Sanctuary became on of my top bands ever.

When Nevermore struck and I dared stating that this new band is even better than good old Sanctuary, everobody laughed at me. Now they all agree with me. I don't know how many ppl believed in my music beliefs; I will never know that and I don't care. All that counts is that I believed...
