For those that speak the glorious finnish tongue, the fact that the metal site Imperiumi posted a review of Live Damage might be of interest.

They gave it 8/10

The last paragraph sums up the review:
"Live Damage is a damn good package crammed with goodies that's a must-have for any fan. The only thing gnawing at it is the apathy of the slavic audience, but what can you do."

and for all those who don't, please erase the word "imperiumi" from your dictionary before it can affect nearby words with some unknown sexually transmitted disease, thank you.

I'm sick, so I don't really have anything better to do... :P

The Gothenburg natives and one of the progenitors of "melodic death", Dark Tranquillity, pamper their fans with a solid live-DVD, filled with goodness for all. The band has recorded their "Damage Done" tours Krakow gig with the aid of several cameras, and the result is undeniably very good. The band is obviously in excellent shape and plays an intensive one and half hour set, during which we hear quite a diverse selection of Dark Tranquillity material. The only thing that leaves one to wonder is the choice of scenery. Why would the band want to record their gig specifically in Poland? It's obvious that the band hasn't sold the venue nearly full, and the audience is quite apathetic. One would think the DVD would be recorded in a place where they knew the audience would be fully into the band. Financial reasons probably influenced this decision, and the venue is marked as some "studio". That explains quite a lot.

The set list consists of 19 tracks (excluding the intro and outro), that are spread evenly over the bands most important releases, with the "Damage Done" album being obviously in the most important spot. As was stated, the Swedes are in good shape on this gig despite the lack of enthusiasm on part of the audience, and the band plays their set with a convincing hand, without unnecessary trickery. The show has also remained in normal shape, and nothing extra was dragged on te stage, that would differ from Dark Tranquillity's usual stage act. So pyros don't explode on stage, which I think is just a good thing. Dark Tranquillity's music wouldn't benefit much from such gimmicks. The gig's picture proportion is 4:3 and the sounds are Dolby Surround 5.1, so fans with a home theatre can enjoy a rather impressive audio visual display.

Besides the gig itself, the disc also includes an extensive bonus section. They include fan footage from three different locations; (fucking) Essen, Athens and Paris. All the gigs are from the "Damage Done" tour, and vary in audio and picture quality. None of the gigs are terrible, so these work as a nice bonus for fans. There are 16 tracks altogether from these three gigs, most of which are naturally found in the Krakow gig as well. The bootlegs offer a nice change and add colour to the package.

Other bonuses are offered in the form of promo videos, of the songs "”Monochromatic Stains” and ”ThereIn”, and a half hour interview of the vocalist Mikael Stanne. Naturally there is also an art and photo gallery, a biography and other small things that a fan of the band can entertain themselves with for some time.

Live Damage is a damn good package crammed with goodies that's a must-have for any fan. The only thing gnawing at it is the apathy of the slavic audience, but what can you do.

They should have recorded it in Mexico :bah: mexican audiences rule you all, well except maybe the japs, but they are retarded.

Wouldn't it be funny if it's called The Poland Domination Tour? Har. :)
